  • Gaffney set a career high with five touchdown receptions in 2007 and caught a scoring pass in three straight games from Nov. 25 to Dec. 9.
  • Gaffney is the only player in NFL history to record backto- back playoff games with eight or more catches for 100 or more yards in the same postseason. He caught eight passes for 104 yards in a first-round playoff game against the New York Jets (1/7/07) and followed that with a 10-catch performance for 103 yards the following week at San Diego (1/14/07).
  • In the 2006 playoffs, Gaffney led the team with 21 catches for 244 yards and two touchdowns.

San Diego (9/16):  Caught a 6-yard pass from Tom Brady in the second quarter that led to a 24-yard Stephen Gostkowski field goal.  Buffalo (9/23):  Caught two passes for 15 yards, including a 4-yard touchdown reception from Tom Brady with 6:26 remaining in the third quarter that gave the Patriots a commanding 24-7 lead... Hauled in an 11-yard pass that helped to set up Brady's first touchdown pass to Benjamin Watson and gave the Patriots a 10-7 second-quarter lead.  at Cincinnati (10/1): Played in reserve at wide receiver... Did not record a reception.  Cleveland (10/7):  Caught one pass for 5 yards on a fourth-quarter drive that resulted in a 25-yard touchdown reception by Benjamin Watson.  at Dallas (10/14):  Caught two passes for 16 yards in the Patriots' 48-27 victory over the Cowboys... Hauled in his only reception, a 12-yard pass on third and five to extend a first-quarter drive that resulted in a 30-yard touchdown reception by Donte' Stallworth.  Washington (10/28):  Played in a reserve role at wide receiver and finished with a season-high four catches for 39 yards in the Patriots' dominating 52-7 win over the Redskins... Turned upfield for a 21-yard gain on a short pass from Tom Brady for a first down on a second-and-10 play in the third quarter on a drive that resulted in Brady's third touchdown pass of the game.  at Indianapolis (11/4):  Made his first start of the season at wide receiver as the Patriots opened the game in a three-wide set in a 24-20 comeback win over the Colts... Did not record a reception.  at Buffalo (11/18):  Made his second straight start at wide receiver as the Patriots opened in a four-wide set on offense... 2007 Postseason (2/1/0/0):  Jacksonville (1/12):  Started at wide receiver... Grabbed three catches for 26 yards in the Patriots’ 31-20 win over the Jaguars... Two of his three receptions resulted in first downs on third-down plays, including a 13-yard catch that helped to extend a Patriots’ scoring drive in the third quarter.  San Diego (1/20):  Made his only reception an important one, hauling in a 12-yard touchdown strike in the second quarter of the Patriots' 21-12 win over the Chargers in the AFC Championship Game... Gaffney's scoring grab was his third in five career playoff games. 



2006 Season

2006 (11/6, 3/3): Started six of 11 games at wide receiver after being signed as a free agent on Oct. 9, 2006 ... Tied a career-high with 10 receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown against San Diego (01/14/07) ... Registered eight receptions for 104 yards in his first career playoff contest against the N.Y. Jets (01/07/07) ... Led the team with 21 receptions, 244 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions in the 2006 postseason.

Minnesota (10/30): Saw limited action at wide receiver ... Hauled in a 4-yard pass from Tom Brady along the sideline in the second quarter. N.Y. Jets (11/12): Saw extensive action in a reserve role at wide receiver and grabbed three receptions for 65 yards ... Extended the Patriots' second scoring drive with a 13-yard catch on a fourth-and-three play in the second quarter ... Set up the Patriots' touchdown with a 33-yard catch along the left sideline in the fourth quarter. Green Bay (11/19): Started at wide receiver and collected one reception for four yards. 2005 Season

2005 (16/13 - Houston): Caught a career-high 55 passes for 492 yards and two touchdowns in his final season in Houston ... Played in all 16 games, starting 13 at wide receiver.

  • Collected a career-high 10 receptions for 87 yards against the Seattle Seahawks (10/16).
  • Registered six catches for 40 yards against the Baltimore Ravens (12/4) to make it three consecutive five-plus reception games.


2004 Season

2004 (16/12 - Houston): Saw action in all 16 games, starting 12 games at wide receiver ... Grabbed 41 passes for a career-high 632 yards and two touchdowns in 2004 ... Also averaged a career-best 15.4 yards per reception.

  • Posted five catches for 85 yards and one touchdown against the Tennessee Titans (10/17).
  • Hauled in four passes for a career-high 109 yards in a victory at Chicago (12/19), including a career-long 69- yard pass from David Carr.


2003 Season

2003 (16/11 - Houston): Totaled 34 catches for 402 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games with 11 starts in his second season with the Texans.

  • Notched five catches for 61 yards against New Orleans (9/14).
  • Posted three catches for 38 yards and a touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars (9/28).


2002 Season

2002 (16/14 - Houston): Started 14 of 16 games played as a rookie, posting 41 catches for 483 yards and a touchdown.

  • Made his NFL debut as a starter in a season-opening win against the Cowboys (9/8).
  • Recorded three catches for 48 yards and his first career touchdown, a 26-yard score from Davis Carr against Buffalo (10/13).
  • Hauled in four passes for 47 yards against the Cleveland Browns (10/20). Threw his first career touchdown pass, taking a pitch from Carr and running right before lobbing a 39-yard scoring strike to wide receiver Corey Bradford.
