College

From 1987 Patriots' Media Guide

A tough competitor, he gashed his hand in '81 Senior Bowl and, following stitches that closed the injury, he returned to finish the game...although he had the outer cartilage removed from both knees in '78 and'79 off-seasons, he played in all 11 games in his junior and senior years.
