   Harold Nash   Strength & Conditioning
  Year: 5   Yrs/Pat: 5

Coaching

Harold Nash was hired as the assistant strength and conditioning coach on Head Coach Bill Belichick's staff in 2005. Nash's responsibilities with the Patriots include assisting strength and conditioning coach Mike Woicik in implementing the team's year-round conditioning program. Nash also assists in coordinating the Patriots' player development programs.

Nash is in his fifth season as a full-time coach following an all-star career as a defensive back in the Canadian Football League and is a veteran of 12 seasons of mentoring young athletes. Beginning in 1994 and continuing throughout his CFL tenure, Nash served as an assistant to highly-regarded speed coach Tom Shaw, assisting over 30 college defensive backs in their preparations for the NFL Draft. Starting in 2000, he also worked with the Nike Football Group to teach speed, agility and quickness to some of the nation's top college prospects.

Nash has won Player Development awards from the NFL in three of the last four seasons.

Playing

Nash was a defensive back in the Canadian Football League for 11 seasons from 1994-2004. He was a threetime all-star and recorded a total of 367 tackles and 24 interceptions while playing for the Shreveport Pirates (1994-95), Montreal Alouettes (1996-99), Winnipeg Blue Bombers (1999-2003) and Edmonton Eskimos (2004). Nash is Winnpeg's all-time leader in pass knockdowns and was selected to the West all-star squad while playing with the Blue Bombers in 2000 and 2001. He also earned the nod as a CFL all-star in 2001 and earned East All-Star recognition in 1997 while playing for Montreal.

Nash attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now Louisiana-Lafayette), where he joined the team as a walk-on and played defensive back for four seasons. He was voted a permanent team captain by his peers in recognition of his leadership, and earned the Cajun Spring Training Award from the coaching staff in recognition of his work ethic. Following his college career, Nash signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent and was a member of the team during training camp in 1993.
